New Galaxy S11 leak reveals surprising details about the display

Samsung is expected to launch a Galaxy S10 refresh next year, it’ll likely to be called the Samsung Galaxy S11. While the official launch is expected to be in the first quarter of 2020, leaks about the smartphone have already started pouring in. The latest that we have is about the aspect ratio of the smartphone.

The smartphone reportedly has appeared on the HTML5Test browser benchmark and according to the benchmark listing, the Galaxy S11 features a display with a weird 20:9 aspect ratio, slightly up from 19:9 on the Galaxy S10. Th2 20:9 aspect ratio, however, isn’t anything new on Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80 already have a screen ratio similar to that of the S11.

Now, an increase in aspect ratio also means that we’ll see bezels on top and bottom getting thinner on the S11.

The smartphone that appeared on the HTML5Test browser benchmark has a model number SM-G416U and if you do a bit of googling, you’ll notice that the model number of the Galaxy S series starts with SM-G9xxx, and that’s the trick Samsung plays which lead you yo believe that the SM-G416U is not of the S11.

Before releasing them to the public, Samsung tests the Galaxy S series that follows an SM-G4xx model code. But the final product that reaches the consumers has a slightly different number system — Samsung just changes the first two digits, keeping the rest of the letters and numbers the same. So, the SM-G416U could be the SM-G986U in disguise( via Galaxyclub).
