Microsoft Rewards can now pay for your groceries

I’ve never really taken Microsoft Rewards seriously. The service is a loyalty programme from Microsoft that lets you earn rewards for doing the things you already do like searching the web and buying games and apps, as long as you are using Microsoft’s preferred services.

That was until today when I learnt that it could, in fact, pay for your groceries. The service has just added Tesco as a service where you can redeem points, with 7,600 points addding up to a £5 voucher.

Now 7,600 points are not easy to earn, but with up to 150 points available per day per Bing search and up to 2500 for renting movies from the Store, where Microsoft offers an equivalent service at the same price it is a no-brainer to switch.
