Airbus wins $5mn Mars rover contract to bring back samples

Airbus has won a $5.2-million contract from the European Space Agency to design a concept for a Mars rover that can collect soil samples and send them to Earth. Planned to launch in 2026, the rover would find and collect samples left by NASA’s Mars 2020 rover. Interestingly, Airbus is already building ExoMars rover, scheduled to be launched in 2021.
